BACKPAICK sees only the screenshots you choose to send it.
BACKPAICK is in a private beta, run by Epic Playdate. Here's exactly what we collect, where it lives, who can see it, and how to delete it.
BACKPAICK sees only the screenshots you choose to send it.
Your backpack, cards, and screenshots are locked to your own sign-in.
We don't sell your information or use it for advertising. Not now, not later.
Email us and we'll remove all of it, screenshots included.
BACKPAICK is made by Epic Playdate LLC and created by Rebecca Orlov. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Epic Playdate. It covers this website, the beta application, and the BACKPAICK beta app.
You can read every page without an account. We don't run analytics, ad trackers, or cookies of our own, and our fonts are hosted on our own site. Netlify hosts the site and keeps standard server logs, like your IP address, browser type, and the pages you asked for, for security and reliability.
The application asks for your first name, email, an optional phone number, your ZIP code, and a little about your family's week: school type, optional school names, how many kids, their grades, where school information comes from, and the backpack you designed. Netlify stores your answers, and Rebecca reads every one to choose the 10 testers.
We use your email or phone only to talk with you about the beta. If you're not picked, we keep your application so we can reach out when there's room, unless you ask us to delete it.
The beta app saves your backpack to a private account, so it's there on any phone you sign in on. Here's what it holds:
All of this is stored with Supabase on servers in the United States. Each family's information is locked to that family's sign-in. Our beta results page shows counts, like how many cards were made and how many needed fixing, never your screenshots. Rebecca can open your account only to run the beta or fix a problem you report.
When you send a screenshot, BACKPAICK passes it to Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, to find what matters in it. Anthropic handles it under its commercial terms, which don't allow it to train its models on what we send. The screenshot is read, the cards come back, and you check them before anything is saved.
Screenshots can include other people's names, like a teacher or another parent in a group chat. Send only what you're comfortable sharing, and crop out anything you'd rather not.
BACKPAICK is for parents and caregivers. It isn't directed to children under 13, and kids don't get accounts. The kid details you add, like a first name, grade, school, and activities, are there to organize your family's week and stay in your account. A nickname works just as well.
If you think a child's information reached us in a way it shouldn't have, email us and we'll delete it.
You can fix anything BACKPAICK found, anytime, right in the app. To see what we hold, delete your whole account and every screenshot, or withdraw your application, email rebecca@epicplaydate.co from the address you used. We'll do it within 30 days and email you when it's done.
We keep beta information while the beta runs. When it ends, we'll tell testers what happens next, and you can ask us to delete everything at any point. We protect what we hold with private, sign-in-only access and encrypted connections. No system is perfect, so if something ever goes wrong, we'll tell you promptly.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If we change how we use your information, we'll email testers before it takes effect.
The beta is free, early, and still learning. BACKPAICK can misread a date or miss a detail, which is why every card links back to its original screenshot. Check anything important against the source, and don't rely on BACKPAICK as your only reminder for something that can't be missed.

If you send us ideas or feedback, you agree we may use them to improve BACKPAICK without any obligation or payment to you.
